Support For Non-Chinese Speaking Children

The early learning of Chinese language for non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) children can facilitate their early adaptation to the local education system and the local community. Hence, the Education Bureau (EDB) encourages parents of NCS children enrolling their children in kindergartens that provide Chinese language environment to facilitate their Chinese language learning.

Our kindergarten teachers have actively participated in recognised courses that provide the support for NCS children through individual and small group learning continuously. Teachers adopt interesting teaching pedagogies such as role-play, words matching games, multicultural teaching resources and organising a variety of activities to enrich the language learning environment. As a result, NCS students could eventually immerse in the Chinese language learning environment to enhance their learning motivation.
